I was a free man and sailed back to New France in 1633. I was reinstated as Governor and went and took ownership of Quebec again on May 22. Everyone was happy to see me back in New France. I did everything I could to strengthen Quebec. At this point in time the population was at about 300 people.
In the fall of 1635, I became sick and I died on the 25th of December, of a stroke, in New France. I died as the founder of New France and one of the world’s greatest explorers and geographers...Not to toot my own horn but...toot toot!
